My idea of a true musician is to be able to compose, perform and conduct. It has always been my life long desire to maintain an equal qualitative ability in conducting as well as in piano playing! In this particular Hong Kong Pan Asia Symphony concert I swapped with my colleague Robert Lehrbaumer, who also share my desire, by conducting his Liszt’s piano concerto no. 1 in the first half and playing Brahms’ piano concerto no. 1 in the second half of the programme.
